ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Layla Sanabru. I’ve struggled with mental illness throughout my life, so I understand first-hand how
difficult and isolating it can be. Mental health is a deeply personal issue and there is no one-size-fits-all solution which is why everyone’s experiences and perspectives are valued and respected at Mentally Loud. Additionally, everyone deserves access to mental health support, regardless of their background or circumstances.
I believe that mental health is a complex and multi-faceted issue, and I am approaching it with an open mind. This means acknowledging the connection between mental health, physical health, personal development, as well as the impact of social and cultural factors on mental wellness. My journey with mental health has taught me the importance of self-care, self-compassion, and self-advocacy. In sharing my personal experiences, I hope others feel comfortable opening up about their own struggles with mental health as it takes a lot of courage to speak openly about mental illness.
Also, recovery is not always a linear process, there are ups and downs, setbacks and successes. I will provide encouragement and support for those who may be feeling discouraged or alone. A better tomorrow gets attention by speaking out, sharing our stories, and understanding that mental health does not define who we are. Together, we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and create a more compassionate and understanding society.
